Preference or Conquest is written by Vicki Duncan, who is a gay woman originally from Edinburgh; who seems to be magnetically drawn to heterosexual women and them to her. This short piece is set in the bright lights of Manchester’s bustling Canal Street where you can be free to be yourself. It explores sexuality and whether a once straight woman can completely change because she ultimately falls for the person. Is sexuality fluid? Or is it a case of ‘bi now, gay later’.

In a life-drawing class seemingly like any other, The Model is asked to do the longest pose of their life. As they enter a deep state of zen in order to get through the pose, their sense of reality begins to crack right open, devolving into a performance about gender and expectations. They’re Just Roommates is a two person play set in the flat of Benny and Dee, two unlikely roommates who have been living together for a couple of months. Period drama obsessed, girly-pop, Dee is a complete contrast to her pint drinking, indie music listening roommate Benny. Who somehow find themselves caught up in a romance, very similar to Dee’s favourite book, Pride and Prejudice.
