Queer Scouse Activists is a living archive, gathering stories of resistance and rebellion from the everyday radicals who have shaped Liverpool’s queer history.
Through storytelling workshops and digital submissions, these vital voices are celebrated and shared during Homotopia Festival and beyond. The project honours the quiet acts of courage that sustain communities just as much as the bold, loud acts of protest recognising that every single contribution matters.
Artist and activist Clare Jasmine Beloved weaves her decades of experience in grassroots creativity with Homotopia, creating a welcoming space where the past, present, and future of queer activism meet.
From bus stops to banners, kitchens to nightclubs, Liverpool’s activism takes many creative forms. This project gathers unheard local stories from your auntie at Greenham Common to your nephew fighting for trans rights, and everyday people who never considered themselves activists before.
Discover their voices in Queer Scouse Activists, a 100-card story deck launching for Homotopia Festival 2026. Browse the card collection online from 18 Oct onwards.
If you’d like to add your story to the Activists Pack, please send a short paragraph about your experience, along with a photograph, to [email protected]. Please also confirm that we have permission to use both without copyright restrictions.
