Queer Cinema for Palestine began as an alternative ethical space for filmmakers who pulled or refused to show their work in the Israeli government-sponsered TLVfest LGBTQ Film Festival. Over the past six years, hundreds of film makers have shown their solidarity in response to the boycott call from queer and trans Palestinians. As Israel continues it’s genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, the West Bank, and across historic Palestine, we condemn this violence and stand in solidarity with Palestinians.

Join us for a screening of the following films:

A Tangled Web Drowning in Honey by Tara Hakim and Hannah Hull

A tangled web drowning in honey is an experiential and textural short film that invites viewers into the inner workings of a mind to ponder the ways in which we love and unlove ourselves.

Out of Gaza by Seza Tiyara Selen and Jannis Osterburg

A young Palestinian woman wants to flee from Gaza with her friends, hoping to find freedom in the West. As a talented engineer she makes escape possible, but doubts arise if it is the right decision to leave. When they cross the wall, they encounter a world they did not expect.

Don’t Take My Joy Away by Omar Gabriel

Omar & Omar are two friends sharing moments of joy in their home in the Shatila Palestinian camp, until a sudden act of violence shatters their world.

Aliens in Beruit by Raghed Charabaty

Blurring truth and fiction, ALIENS IN BEIRUT finds   alienation and desire at home through scripted improv, New Wave wildlife-esque cinematography and visual experimentation.

Blood Like Water by Dima Hamdam

Shadi embarks on a secret adventure, and accidentally drags his family into a trap where they only have two choices; either collaborate with the Israeli occupation, or be shamed and humiliated by their own people. Based on true stories

Palcorecore by Dana Dawud

A chilling, mesmerizing series of dances and repurposed archival footage that circulated on the internet in and around Palestine.

Adbad Hawaz by Robin Riad

Learn the Arabic Alphabet in 28 Easy Steps!”  Robin Riad’s film ostensibly teaches the Arabic alphabet. In reality, the letters are printed onto the 16mm film’s optical track, creating sound from the projector’s reading of their visual patterns.

I Never Promised You a Jasmine Garden by Teyama Alkamli

Tara, a queer Palestinian woman in her late 20s, attempts to suppress her internal emotional turbulence during a phone call with her best friend Sarab, with whom she is in love.
