SUPPORT HOMOTOPIA’S YOUTH PROGRAMME

Homotopia relies on the generous support of donors to deliver our Youth Programme.

Do you believe young people need a platform to speak about their experiences of being young and queer?

We work with LGBTQ+ young people aged 14-18 in making exciting, engaging performance art about gender and sexual identity. This work is then presented in collaboration with education authorities to schools, community groups and conferences.

It is really important for younger children to see role models only slightly older talking about this in a relatable way, hence we focus on primary schools. Our ambitions to increase education around, and decrease bullying based on LGBTQ+ identity.

Our recent production at Blackburne House (Homotopia Festival 2019) as part of ‘Travis Alabanza and Friends’ was a sell out success and recieved much praise for its power and poignancy of message by audiences.
