A Lovely Word is Liverpool’s most eclectic poetry night, featuring two halves of open mic poets, and a headliner beginning the first half.
Hosted by Alex Ferguson and Becky Downing, this free event is a fun, relaxed and friendly evening of performance poetry with a very special LGBTQIA edition as part of this year’s festival. Not to be missed.
The headliner for this edition of A Lovely Word is Peter Scalpello, a queer poet and therapist from Glasgow. Their work has appeared in Five Dials, Granta, The London Magazine and The New York Times, among other publications. Their first collection Limbic was published by Cipher Press this year.
