Look who popped up to Liverpool for the afternoon! Boy George and Mark Wardel (aka TradeMark) have spent the afternoon doing press interviews and making plans for their joint exhibition ‘This Way Out’ in a secret city centre location. One female shopper couldn’t place the familiar face in the furry Kangol cap and asked Boy George why she knew his face? ‘Crimewatch’ was George’s quick response! Thanks to Gary and all at 60 Hope Street for a fabulous dinner.
George and Mark will become proper Homotopians on 30th October at the opening of this year’s festival and they will both be appearing at St George’s Hall on Thursday 14th November. Their collaboration has grown from their 35 year friendship, shared sense of style and love of Bowie, Glam, punk and all things outside the hetero mainstream. Here’s some of the work you can see when you come to ‘This Way Out’ in November. ‘NoMoney Campbell’ an imagined character portrait by Mark and photo by George.
