To mark 10 years of Homotopia TV and as part of Homotopia at Tate Exchange we screen this gem from our vast archive of over 145 episodes of original queer content.

Produced in 2011, a rare and candid interview with David Hoyle – interviewed by author Rupert Smith – exploring David’s growing up in Blackpool, arriving in London and his battles with alcohol and drug addiction. David also talks about the time spent performing and creating the celebrated, legendary and iconic character The Divine David.

David’s candour and honesty is testament to his generosity of spirit, his humanity and lifelong passion for art.

The film will be screened on a continuous loop at Tate Exchange, Tate Liverpool.
