On the last day of the festival Paul Harfleet, festival organizers, Armistead
Centre and Merseyside Police will be present at a stall of pansies in Church
Street.
From 12-4pm Paul will be on hand to distribute the flowers and chat
about The Pansy Project to the general public. In donating the flowers to
the general public, the pansies are transformed into symbols against homophobic
violence.
When planted from private gardens to window boxes the pansies are
destined to become entwined with the meaning attached to them thus creating
an anecdotal messenger of resistance.
