Following the initial presentation of Liverpool Is Burning in 2006, House
of Suarez continues with its collaboration with Homotopia.
Liverpool Is Burning, originally started as a research and development project
through the “Queercore” strand of the Homotopia festival. 2007
is the year where ‘Burning’ unleashes its ferocious & feisty
2nd phase of development. An exciting and dynamic exploration of Vogueography
flourishes and creates an edgy platform giving a new group of critically acclaimed
artists the opportunity to create a fantastical and operatic verve to the
production.
Still only a work in progress, this year will set the foundations for a large
site-specific
installation for 2008.
Excavating our shared collective memory of Liverpool
club & dance history Liverpool Is Burning will be one of the highlights
of Homotopia 2008 turning one of Liverpool’s most famous landmarks into
an underground vogue house.
