Before Go Fish, we queers led tragic lives on the Silver Screen. We parted from our lovers at the end of the movie. We were killers, victims and suicides. We had to show how awful it was being queer so that straight society would pity rather than persecute us. Then along came Rose Troche and Guinevere Turner with a little black & white movie called Go Fish: here, for the first time, were smart, sexy, unapologetic dykes living ordinary lives - just hanging out, having fun, looking for love.
